As an important part of Brandon Transit’s goal of increasing the appeal of public transportation in the Brandon area, a public consultation on the transit fare structure will be held on September 13, 2011 at 7:00 PM in the foyer of City Hall.

As part of this consultation, Brandon Transit Staff will provide an overview of several possible alterations to the current fare structure, including the projected impacts of increasing, decreasing and reallocating the current fares. The public are invited to attend and provide their perspectives on the suggested alternatives.

“Modification of the fare structure is the most powerful tool that transit professionals can use to change ridership patterns.” States Timothy Sanderson, Director of Transportation Services with the City of Brandon. “Historically, we have simply increased slightly every year, but are new due to take a good look at the entire structure.”

Brandon Transit will use the information and comments obtained in this consultation to formulate recommended changes to the current fee structure approved by council for 2012 and onward.

For more information, please contact: Timothy Sanderson – Director of Transportation Services – 204-729-2130 or email: t.sanderson@brandon.ca

The terminal for Brandon’s bus service is located downtown at 8th and Rosser avenue (refer to the map). From that point you can catch a bus to anywhere in town. We have many bus stops all throughout the city and usually within 15-20 minutes a bus pulls up to those locations.

Just make sure to exit the bus through the rear door and not the front, and if a transfer is needed then request one as soon as you step on board.
