The RCA museum is located in CFB Shilo, only 26 km East of Brandon. It serves to represent a vital part of the history of Canada’s armed forces. The museum also tells the story of Canadian gunners over the years and how that aspect of war has evolved and made Canada a leading example for peacekeeping throughout the world. Since the first world war, over 100 000 gunners have served in the Canadian forces.

The museum was established in 1962 and contains over 60 000 items. It exhibits a large amount of pristine conditioned Canadian made military vehicles and a large number of artillery pieces.

Admission to the Museum will be free on May the 12th 2010, Manitoba day, from 10-5pm.

The museum is located at:

  1. My father served in the RCArtillery 26th Battalion 4th Field (Sarnia) Regiment from 1939-1945. He was in France, Holland and I believe Belgium. I have little or no other info on this unit. If you can find him in the records and a unit history it would be appreciated. His full name is Gordon Henry Houston born: Sept 6th 1920. Thank You in advance Gary Houston
