So whats next?

1. Brandon Mb has started to focus on local news in the Westman region.
2. Current daily visitors are at over 100 each day with page views in the 100′s. (Much less than ebrandon’s current 15000uv a day.)
3. Advertising channels will be set up some time this week.
4. Brandon Jobs will be put back after the link disappeared.
5. Will add some more interactivity w/ polls and such.

Tonight I will be doing a major update to the website and it’s structure. Don’t be surprised if the whole site looks totally different. The new version should run smoothly and more efficiently than the current site. The update will be made late tonight (23:00) so there shouldn’t be any major downtime but some minor issues like font sizes and pictures may occur. Please be patient and everything should be settled within a few hours after implementation.

Currently all job postings are free, and will last for 30 days at a time. Jobs may be from anywhere in Southwestern Manitoba and the Westman region, and of course Brandon. Your job will become live once I have activated it in order to prevent spammers. A link to the website can be found by the search bar in the top right hand corner. If you’d like to add any jobs please feel free to do so by using the form on the website. If you have any questions please contact us through any contact form found on the website and we’ll prompty reply.

Figured it was time to implement a job board on the site once more, but with a newer system. I’ll be working out the quirks and quarks this week but it shouldn’t be too difficult to get it started. Page views are over 100 a day and a good number of folk are looking for jobs in Brandon. At the moment there are a variety of job boards for the Brandon area, online and offline I plan on focusing on a few key points the others have missed. There isn’t a lot of variety of jobs in Brandon due to the city’s composition but it isn’t to say there are not a lot of jobs here. As the city continues to grow the number and variety of jobs in Brandon will improve. Thankfully our province has one of the lowest unemployment rates in Canada at around 5.5%

For the time being it’ll be free to post jobs and responses/resumes and later, well we’ll decide that later. We’ll be looking to implement a Spanish version to it for our local immigrants soon after the system is complete. Anyway this is a short blurb to get the word out.

If you have any pictures of any of the location or attractions and you’d like them to be used for the website, please use the contact form. We’d love to have your pictures on Brandon Mb.ca. Also if you have any suggestions for future articles and local attractions or events, we’d love to hear them. So don’t hesitate to contact us.

We have also noticed an increase in people looking for addresses by using the search box. To find directions to any location in Brandon please go to the Brandon Map and follow the instructions posted there.

It’s a jobs board which will be free to post until January 1st 2010. You only need a email to register a job, after the job is confirmed it will appear shortly after on the job board. That email address, once confirmed, will allow you to register as many jobs as you want without having to wait for them to be accepted or confirmed.

Any applicants interested can submit their resume to your website, which isn’t shown at any point. This feature can be disabled but you must allow some method for potential clients to contact you in your description.
