			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Brandon Public Library was founded in 1967 and is the largest public library of of Southwestern Manitoba and one of two libraries in Brandon. Library cards are free of charge and available to all residents of Brandon and the surrounding area, and allow you to access not only the books in our library but books can also be taken on loan from nearby libraries in Neepawa, Carberry and other local libraries. To receive your library card bring identification and proof of adress (such as a bank statement) to the library and within minutes you&#8217;ll be able to take out books.</p>
<p>The library also has free internet access for those with library cards, as well as a large collection of childrens movies and modern films that are avaiable to be loaned out free of charge.</p>
<p>The library is found downtown right underneath of the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba. Free parking is available in the downtown parking center which can be entered from 7th St. and Princess avenue.</p>

<p>The city bus service brings buses to the hospital once every 30 minutes. There is a gift shop within the hospital as well as bank machines, pay phones, a cafeteria and as well as a Tim Hortons on the main floor. Visiting hours vary depending on the centres so it&#8217;s best to check their website for more information.</p>

<p>The Brandon Sportsplex was built for the 1979 Canada Winter Games. For the 1997 Canadian Summer Games the facilities were greatly upgraded and now the Sportsplex contains a 50m swimming pool, a water slide, diving boards, racquetball courts, outdoor running tracks and an ice hockey arena. Now more than a quarter of a million people visit the Sportsplex each year.</p>
<p>The fees for pool usage are very generous and wont cost you over 5.50 (3.50 for a child and 4.50 for a student). On Tuesdays the fee is only a toonie. For public skating the cost is only a few dollars per skate for children and students.</p>
<p>There are a great number of other programs being run at the Sportsplex in conjunction with various organisations and clubs such as first aid courses, and water safety courses. There is an aquatic aerobics program called Aquafit that also regularly meets and also a lap swim.</p>

<p>Brandon has an airport located 1.5km North of town on the #10 Highway towards Riding Mountain National Park.
